At harvest, the scale is the bottleneck for the whole elevator. Thurman decks are specified where truck traffic never lets up — and where a day of downtime costs more than the scale.
Haul trucks don't slow down for the scale. Quarry and mine decks take braking shock, side loads and vibration on every cycle — which is exactly the abuse the Diamondback's self-restoring design was engineered around.
Log trucks load the scale like nothing else on the road — long wheelbases, concentrated axle groups, and decks that get hit hard all day. Thurman builds for repeated impact, not showroom traffic.
Steel moves by truck and by rail, and the scale sits in the money path for both. Thurman weighs the heaviest industrial loads — on one deck, if that's what the site needs.
At a landfill or a transfer station the scale is the cash register. Every load that crosses it is revenue, and a deck that stops weighing stops the gate — so the scale is specified for traffic volume first and capacity second.
A plant weighs in both directions all day. Aggregate, cement and liquid AC arrive by truck and the mixed product leaves on a ticket, with mixer trucks and tandem dumps crossing the same deck all season.
An overloaded trailer is a problem at the far end of the trip. Fleets, public scales and distribution centers weigh before dispatch, on a deck that holds its calibration under all-day traffic.
Here the site decides the scale, not the capacity. Chemical plants, fuel terminals and power stations weigh through washdown, corrosive dust and material that does not forgive a sloppy seal.
Tell us the site and the traffic. A Thurman sales engineer will size it with you and connect you with your local distributor.
