Diamondback 8550 Field Pour Truck Scale
A 10 in. concrete deck, poured on site into Diamondback steel modules
The Diamondback 8550's concrete is poured on site, so each module ships and is lifted at about 3 tons and reaches 12.5 to 15 tons in place. The wide-flange I-beams carry the wet concrete themselves during the pour. A 70 ft x 10 ft platform takes about 21 cubic yards. Traffic starts once a core sample tests at 4,000 psi, after at least 14 days of moist cure.
The pour encases the interior structural steel, and a continuous 1/4 in. plate closes each module underside. Double-ended shear beam load cells carry the 90,000 lb concentrated load rating through parallel links, a full 360-degree shock suspension. Load cell compartments open from the top on four countersunk fasteners. The electronics mount on the side, and the profile is 15 in.
Features
Rigid composite deck
The pour encases the structural I-beams, forming a rigid deck that resists bending.
Room to clean out underneath
4-5/8 in. of clearance under the weighbridge leaves room for cleanout.
Access plate fasteners below the deck surface
Four countersunk hex fasteners hold each access plate, clear of wheel loading and wear.
Checking that holds its setting
CheckLink handles hard shocks and side loads, and needs no further adjustment after installation.
Electronics on the side of the scale
Junction boxes or Smart Sectional Controllers mount outside the weighbridge for routine maintenance.
Five-year weighbridge warranty
Repair or replacement for defective material or workmanship, with service twice a year under an authorized Preventive Maintenance Agreement held without lapse.

Questions
Is the Diamondback 8550 legal for trade in the US and Canada?
Yes. It carries NTEP Certificate of Conformance 89-016 in the United States and Measurement Canada approval AM-6004 in Canada. They are separate approvals: an NTEP certificate alone does not clear a scale for commercial use in Canada.
How much concrete does the deck take, and when can trucks use it?
About 3 cubic yards for a 10 ft x 10 ft scale, 21 for 70 ft x 10 ft and 33 for 100 ft x 11 ft. Use a 4,000 psi mix with 5 to 7 percent air entrainment, and keep the deck moist for at least 14 days. The scale goes into service once a core sample tests at 4,000 psi.
How many load cells does the scale use?
Two per section. A two-section scale uses four load cells and a six-section scale uses twelve. The base module carries four, and each intermediate or end module carries two.
