Falcon 8565 Steel Deck Truck Scale

Falcon 8565 steel deck modules are welded at the factory and arrive ready to set, in 15 standard lengths. Load cells sit under the outside I-beams, so a technician services the scale from beside the platform. The hermetically sealed IP69K cells suit wet sites and yards that are washed down. Air circulates through the open understructure, and a crew can inspect the modules from beneath.
The deck is 1/4 in. tread plate laid over an orthotropic structural steel I-beam module. Concentrated load capacity is 90,000 lb, scale capacity runs 60 to 150 tons, and deflection is 1/1200. Platforms are 10 or 11 ft wide and 10 to 120 ft long, in one to six modules on an above-ground foundation. Checking is an end-wall bump post system.

Questions
Is the Falcon 8565 legal for trade in the US and Canada?
Yes. It carries NTEP Certificate of Conformance 22-087 in the United States and Measurement Canada approval AM-6004 in Canada. They are separate approvals: an NTEP certificate alone does not clear a scale for commercial use in Canada.
How is the 8565 different from the 8555?
The deck. The 8565 has a 1/4 in. steel tread plate deck, welded at the factory. The 8555 has a 10 in. concrete deck poured on site over structural I-beams. Both carry a concentrated load capacity of 90,000 lb and 60 to 150 tons in 10 and 11 ft widths, with the same side-serviced load cells.
Can the 8565 go in a pit?
Yes, as the pit-friendly build. The standard scale is designed for an above-ground foundation. The pit-friendly build adds top access cover plates, one per section, ordered with the scale, and pit coping is ordered separately.
