TS250 Indicator - ABS Enclosure
Six keys and a DB9 at the back, for the dry-room scale
A PC or tape printer plugs into the TS250's external DB9, so it connects without breaking the weights-and-measures seal. PC25X saves the full setup to a file, and a replacement indicator is restored from it, not reprogrammed by hand. Multi-point calibration, to four points, corrects a platform, tank or hopper that does not track a single span. The ABS case is rated NEMA 1, for dry indoor rooms.
The TS250 runs a dry-room bench, floor or hopper scale from six keys: On/Off, Units, Zero, B/G-Net, Tare and Print. It reads eight 350 ohm or sixteen 1000 ohm analog load cells on a 6-digit, 1.0 in. backlit LCD. COM1 and COM2 are standard as RS232, RS422 or RS485, with 20 mA passive on COM2. Ethernet TCP, 4-20 mA, Bluetooth and PLC interfaces are field-installed options; on ABS, Ethernet TCP and a PLC interface cannot be combined.

The technical picture
The TS250 reads up to eight 350 ohm or sixteen 1000 ohm analog load cells and shows the result on a 6-digit, 1.0 in. green backlit LCD. Capacity programs to 999,999 with division sizes from 0.0001 to 50. Commercial weighing is approved to 10,000 divisions, and 100,000 divisions are available for non-commercial work.
The black ABS enclosure is rated NEMA 1 and belongs in dry indoor rooms. The material resists heat, impact and chemicals. COM1 and COM2 are standard, each running RS232, RS422 or RS485, with 20 mA passive available on COM2. The ABS build brings COM2 out to an external DB9 on the back, so a PC or tape printer plugs in without opening the case.
Six keys run the front panel: On/Off, Units, Zero, B/G-Net, Tare and Print. A threaded plug at the rear gives a technician the calibration switch without opening the enclosure. The same plug takes the wire lead seal.

Bluetooth Class I accessoryIndicator side
Powered by the indicator and supplied with cable 29402. Runs over COM1 or COM2 as RS232, with a range of 100 m (328 ft). A link needs the far end as well: 29515 for the PC or printer side, AC adapter 29639 where its USB power cable does not suit, and cable 24331Q to reach a printer. The indicator is the server when it connects to a printer and the client when it connects to a PC.
Specifier & operator FAQ
Is the TS250 legal for trade?
NTEP Certificate of Conformance 15-099 covers the TS250 Series for commercial use up to 10,000 divisions, and obtainable accuracy meets NIST Handbook 44. Measurement Canada approval AM-6002 is listed separately in the manuals. Peak hold and piece-count modes are not legal for trade. The enclosure accepts a wire lead seal through the rear program-switch plug.
Is Ethernet standard on the TS250?
No. Both Ethernet paths are separately priced, field-installed accessories. Ethernet TCP accessory 33555 is the ABS version and cannot be installed alongside a PLC interface option. Ethernet/IP module 29884 is the industrial PLC protocol and is a different product. Standard comms are two serial ports: COM1 and COM2 as RS232, RS422 or RS485, plus 20 mA passive on COM2.
Does part number 34643 run on batteries?
No. 34643 is the AC-power ABS indicator. Battery accessory 29421 is a field-installed five-cell pack for the ABS enclosure, and 34660 is the factory AC/battery ABS build. The manual rates one 350 ohm load cell with the backlight and both serial ports off at 55 hours, and four load cells with the backlight on at 16 hours.
What does PC25X do that the front panel cannot?
PC25X sets custom units of measure, custom ticket formats and custom serial output strings. It also configures the Ethernet TCP accessory and the indicator side of a PLC interface, and saves and restores the whole configuration. Test-weight calibration is still performed at the indicator front panel.
Can a 4-20 mA output and a PLC interface be fitted together?
No. The 4-20 mA module (28685) cannot be installed with a PLC interface option, and the PLC interfaces cannot be installed with the 4-20 mA option. On the ABS enclosure the Ethernet TCP accessory (33555) also cannot be combined with a PLC interface. The 4-20 mA module needs an isolated, dedicated power supply.
What environment is the ABS enclosure rated for?
NEMA 1, which is dry indoor service. The ABS material is heat, impact and chemical resistant. Operating range is -10 to +40 C (+14 to +104 F). For washdown lines the stainless NEMA 4X build, part number 34644, is the correct choice.
