Avenger Floor Scale
Twelve stock sizes, 3 in. high
At 3 in. high, the Avenger takes pallet jacks and hand trucks with a short ramp or none. It is rated to carry its full capacity at the edge of the deck, not only the center, so a pallet can land where the forks put it. Each platform arrives assembled and wired, levels from above without being lifted, and connects to most analog indicators. Twelve stock sizes run from 3 ft x 3 ft to 5 ft x 7 ft, at 2,500, 5,000 or 10,000 lb.
The deck is 0.25 in. safety-tread plate on a welded Type A36 carbon steel weighbridge, finished in acrylic urethane. Four IP66 potted load cells feed a stainless steel NEMA 4X analog junction box. Overload capacity is 150% and endloading is 100%. Portability frames, forklift pockets and lifting handles are listed options for a plant that moves its scales.

The technical picture
The Avenger Mild Steel Series is a fully electronic low-profile floor scale for general industrial weighing. Platform height is 3 in on every model. Capacities are 2,500, 5,000 and 10,000 lb across twelve standard platforms, 3 ft x 3 ft through 5 ft x 7 ft. Four load cells feed a stainless steel NEMA 4X analog junction box that wires to most analog indicators.
The deck is 0.25 in plate with safety tread on a welded Type A36 carbon steel weighbridge, finished in chemically cross-linked acrylic urethane. Overload capacity is 150% of rated capacity and endloading is 100%. It must sit firmly on all four corners, within 3 degrees of level.
Platforms ship crated, fully assembled and wired. A top plate opens over the junction box and top access holes allow leveling from above. Ramps, bumper guards, pit frames, bolt-down plates and a forklift portability frame are ordered separately.

Factory modification for 4 ft x 4 ft or 5 ft x 5 ft platforms, 1,000 to 10,000 lb. Structural channels are built into the scale. Does not include the floor scale: both the standard platform item number and 3024-02 must be on the order. Add five business days to lead time.
48 in. mild steel indicator pedestal for forklift-pocket platforms
Can only be ordered with the 3024-02 forklift pocket modification and cannot be ordered without it. Not for platforms that have not been modified. Order platform item number, 3024-02 and 3024-03 together.
Stainless steel hermetically sealed load cell upgrade
Replaces the four standard cells and four feet with hermetically sealed blind-hole cells and rocker-pin feet at the same capacity. Both the standard platform item number and 3002-02 must appear on the order. Add five business days to lead time.

Smooth deck / ramp with smooth surface
No additional cost, but both are factory modifications that must be on the order and each adds five business days to lead time. Ordered in place of the standard safety-tread surface.
Non-standard platform / ramp width / pit frame / bumper guard sizing
Non-standard platforms are available only between 30 in. x 30 in. and 6 ft x 8 ft; longer runs are quoted at order. Some non-standard platform sizes and capacities may not be NTEP approved. Specify exact dimensions on the order. Each adds five business days to lead time.
Multi-interval serial tag
Must be on the same order as a new floor scale. Tag combinations are 5,000/10,000 lb, 2,500/5,000 lb and 1,000/2,500 lb, with matching eMIN values of 1.0/2.0, 0.5/1.0 and 0.2/0.5 lb.

Historical package part numbers bundling 4 ft x 4 ft platforms at 2.5k or 5k with a TS-501 or TS-521 indicator. The TS-500 and TS-520 series were discontinued 15 February 2016, and these package numbers no longer appear in current listings. Confirm package availability before ordering.

Order the ramp width that matches the platform side. A maximum of two ramps may be installed, on opposite sides only. Each ramp ships with two integral bolt-down plates and four anchor bolts. 86467 and 154033 are 48 in. long at 3.5 degrees; the others are 30 in. long at 5 degrees.
Mild steel bumper guardOne side, 3 ft / 4 ft / 5 ft / 6 ft / 7 ft
Priced per side. Bumper guards include wedge anchors, and bolt-down plates must be used when bumper guards are installed. 3 ft to 5 ft guards are one piece; guards longer than 5 ft are a two-piece design. Leave at least 1/2 in. clearance between guard and platform.
Mild steel pit frame3 x 3 / 4 x 4 / 4 x 5 / 4 x 6 / 5 x 5 / 5 x 7 ft
One-piece welded frame for flush, in-floor installation. Frame size must match the platform size. The floor opening must be at least 12 in. wider than the frame on all sides, and the concrete work is normally done by a contractor before the scale technician sets the platform.
Mild steel bolt-down plates with anchor boltsSet of 4 / set of 2
A platform with no ramps needs one set of four (63776). A platform with one ramp may need one additional set of two (63778). A platform with two ramps needs no additional plates. Required whenever bumper guards are fitted.
Mild steel lifting eyebolts (2) / stainless steel hole plugs (2)
Eyebolts thread into the deck holes for lifting and cleaning. Manual 51118 requires forged shoulder machinery eye bolts seated flush, engaged at least 1.5 times bolt diameter, with sling angles kept within 45 degrees of vertical.
Stand-alone indicator pillar
Ships from St. Johnsbury, VT 05819 rather than the Meridian, MS scale plant, so it invoices and arrives on a separate shipment.
Avenger mild steel portability frame4 ft x 4 ft / 5 ft x 5 ft
Available for the 4 ft x 4 ft and 5 ft x 5 ft platforms only, 1,000 to 10,000 lb. Designed for use with forklifts, not pallet jacks. The scale sits inside the frame and is lifted by the integrated fork channels, 5.91 in. x 1.88 in. Type A36 carbon steel; other sizes are quoted at order.

Sold separately and bolts to the portability frame, so a frame (177500 or 177514) must be on the order. Accommodates Thurman indicators using a desk or wall mount bracket; most non-Thurman desk/wall brackets fit, though extra mounting holes may need drilling.
Specifier & operator FAQ
Is the Avenger Mild Steel floor scale legal for trade?
NTEP Certificate of Conformance 92-014 covers the Avenger in the United States, at 5,000 divisions. The load cell carries its own NTEP CC# 95-172 and a Factory Mutual approval. Commercial use requires a licensed technician to place the scale into service. In Canada, the Avenger is covered by Measurement Canada class approval AM-6004. NTEP and Measurement Canada are separate approvals and neither implies the other.
Which indicators pair with the Avenger Mild Steel floor scale?
The platform uses a standard analog junction box for interfacing to most analog indicators. Thurman's TS250 and TS255 pair with it, in ABS or 304 stainless NEMA 4X. So do the TS3300's analog models, the TS3301 desktop and TS3302 washdown, with Gross-Tare-Net weighing. Factory calibration (55674) calibrates scale and indicator together, so the indicator must be on the same order.
How many ramps and bolt-down plates does an installation need?
A maximum of two ramps may be fitted, on opposite sides of the platform. Each ramp ships with two integral bolt-down plates and four anchor bolts. With two ramps, no additional plates are required. With one ramp, add one set of two plates (63778). With no ramps, add one set of four plates (63776). Bumper guards also require bolt-down plates.
Can the Avenger be moved with a forklift?
Yes, three listed routes exist. The Avenger Mild Steel Portability Frame holds the scale and is lifted by integrated fork channels. Order 177500 for a 4 ft x 4 ft platform, 177514 for 5 ft x 5 ft. It is designed for forklifts, not pallet jacks. The 3024-02 modification builds fork channels into the platform itself. Threaded deck holes also accept lifting eyebolts for crane rigging.
Can the Avenger be installed flush with the floor?
Yes, with the pit frame accessory. The pit frame is a one-piece welded unit sized to the platform, in six sizes from 3 ft x 3 ft to 5 ft x 7 ft. A contractor cuts an opening at least 12 in wider than the frame on every side, sets the frame level and flush, and pours concrete around and under it. A scale technician then sets the platform. No field welding is required.
What warranty covers the Avenger floor scale?
Under the US general product warranty, Thurman repairs or replaces product that fails from defective material or workmanship within two years of shipment. Labor at regular time is covered for one year, and truck, travel and calibration fees for 30 days from installation. The Canadian and international statement carries the same two-year parts term, with the buyer paying duties and local expenses.
