590 Series Ticket Printer

Model: 590

Wide tickets, an original and four copies, one insertion

The driver, the gate and accounting each get their own copy of the transaction. Gross, tare and net sit side by side in columns across the wide ticket. The dot-matrix head prints on both sweeps at 311 cps, so a multi-line ticket clears in one insertion. The ticket format comes from the indicator, so the layout is edited there.

Print width is 135.6 mm at 88 or 66 columns. Input is RS232C, with cables published for IS-3000, TS-3200, IT-2000 and TS600 Series indicators. The cabinet is 9.92 x 7.28 x 10.47 in. and 15 lb, so it wants a shelf of its own. It runs on cartridge ribbon 24810.

Questions

Specifier & operator FAQ

Which indicators drive the 590 Series?

Three interface cables are offered. Cable 14807 connects an IS-3000, a TS-3200 or a TS600 Series indicator. Cable 16157 connects a TS-3200 in a NEMA 4X enclosure. Cable 15599 connects an IT-2000 or a TS-3200. Manual 51423 gives the TS611, TS612 and TS613 dip-switch settings, and manual 51262 carries a TM-U590 driver selection for the TS-3200.

Is the 590 Series legal for trade?

No NTEP Certificate of Conformance number and no Measurement Canada approval number for this printer appears in any source read, so both fields are blank. The two are separate approvals and neither implies the other. The printer receives data and set-up from the indicator, so recording-element coverage sits with the indicator's certificate. Confirm it with the weights and measures authority.

How many ticket copies does one insertion produce?

One original and four copies. The stock form is scale ticket 98948, a 3-part carbonless ticket measuring 4 in by 7.25 in, supplied 1,000 to the box. Thurman custom prints the ticket with a company name, address, assigned numbering or a different layout. The minimum order is 1,000 and delivery runs three to four weeks.

Is the interface cable included in the printer price?

The cable is a separate item number, but there is no charge when the cable or connector kit is ordered with the printer. It must be specified on the order. Connector kits 13486 and 15585 supply the connector alone, without a cable.

How do the 590 and the 295 differ?

They suit different tickets and different desks. The 590 prints 135.6 mm wide at 88 or 66 columns, measures 9.92 by 7.28 by 10.47 in and weighs 15 lb. The 295 prints 2.59 in wide at 35 characters per line, measures 4 by 7 by 7.5 in and weighs 8 lb. Copy capability is one original plus four copies on the 590, and up to four carbonless on the 295.

What consumables does the 590 use?

Two: cartridge ribbon 24810 and scale ticket 98948. Ribbon 24810 belongs to the 590 and is not the same item as ribbon 14979 on the 295 Series page. Ticket 98948 is 3-part carbonless, 4 in by 7.25 in, 1,000 to the box, and can be custom printed to a site's own layout.
